2024: Musical Notes for the Calendar Flip

I do not make resolutions as part of the new year.  I think those sorts of things can be helpful for a starting point, but a flip of the calendar just does not cause me to engage in a long-term lifestyle change.  Sustainable change is a mindset.  The same goes for sustainable living.

Where does music come into this?  I try very hard to listen to the lyrics in a song.  I know many others do too.  Musicians and song writers (not always the same people) put very interesting twists and thoughts into lyrics.  Here are some I really like right now that I think also can be useful in finding and engaging in a sustainable existence:

Yesterday's calling, don't pick up the phone.  Yesterday's gone and it's time to move on.

We got a million reasons to be mad, let's not pick one.

Nothing changes on New Year's Day.

This last one is a reminder that change can happen any time.  Change does not magically happen because the last two digits of the year are different.

Find your anthem and let it guide you to a good spot.  We have a lot of time left to do good and be happy – go get it!
